Background

Biffa is the leading nationwide integrated waste management business that provides collection, treatment, recycling and technologically-driven energy generation services.

Challenge

Samantha Lunt, recently promoted ‘Rainham Service Manager’ will be regularly conducting Depot Meetings with her team, and will also be involved in Regional Managers Meetings. Her meetings need to be structured and engaging to ensure efficiency within the Rainham Service. Samantha identified a need to improve her confidence levels when speaking to a group of people, which she previously found very daunting.

Solution

Samantha attended our Introduction to Presentation Skills workshop on the 19th October. She felt very nervous prior to the training day and is pleasantly surprised at how confident she feels now. She has really got to grips with how to quickly and effectively structure her ideas – an invaluable tool for preparing her meetings and giving her the confidence for a clear and memorable delivery.

Result

For Samantha the day was a great success – in particular she found the “before” and “after” DVD of her presenting the most useful. Mary (the trainer) continually gave supportive advice and tips which were put into practice straight away.

Samantha has said she will point any promoted staff in our direction. We wish her the best of luck in her new role and look forward to seeing her confidence grow!
