Investing In People: Training Joke of the day

I recently heard a joke.  It’s a training joke, which usually means it’s not that funny.  But it does have a serious message about investing in your people.

CFO asks his CEO, “What happens if we invest in developing our people and then they leave the company?”

CEO answers, “What happens if we don’t, and they stay?”

Training is more than a good idea.  If done successfully it gives your team the ability to change their success-direction.  I think training is like a holiday.  Sometimes you don’t think you need one, but when you come back you can barely believe the sharpness of focus you have.
